Esquiline

The Esquiline Hill was the highest of the seven hills of roman times. In ancient Rome it was one of the better districts in their city, it was a residential area. At around 475Bc a shrine was build on the hill. It was a good neighborhood until a fire destroyed much of it in around 60AD. During Roman times the eastern end of the hill was for garbage and buriel sites. Emporer Nero also build his golden house on it. \
