Ovid's Elegy to Tebullus is defiantly grief to consolation. I have come to the conclusion that Ovid and Tebullus were secret lovers. In his poem, Ovid makes many comparisons to two lovers when one of them dies. "What use to have slept alone in an empty bed?" (Ovid line 34) In this stanza Ovid talks about the two lovers Nemesis and Delia after Nemisis steals her away from Tibullus. In the end, Ovid realizes Tibullus would not want him to grieve like this and that brings him comfort.
